CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer shot a suspected robber this morning at a fast food restaurant.
Police have identified that suspect as 25-year-old Zavier Marquis Davis.
Police responded to a robbery at the Wendy’s on Park Road at about 1:30 a.m. Investigators say Officer Orville Payne III, encountered Davis, who was armed, as he was running out of the back of the restaurant.

The story began in October 2008. On Oct. 16, Tito Walton was shot in the head. He died 10 days later.

DALLAS, N.C. -- 17-year-old Laura Fortenberry was killed Sunday after Howard Pasour hit the car she was driving in head on.
The crash happened on Dallas-Cherryville Highway in Dallas.
Police say Pasour had been drinking and driving.
Court records show Pasour has at least three other driving while impaired convictions.
